Lemmon Petrified Wood Park Builds Out Door Museum
Former Lemmon mayor O S Quammen has gathered thousands of tons of petrified wood and fossils to create the Lemmon Petrified Wood Park. The 16 city block site near Maint Street features a 24 by 24 foot petrified wood castle and multiple pyramids, assembled mostly from local deposits within eight miles of Lemmon. The park aims to attract geologists and tourists, with ongoing plans to expand the collection though no sale of curiosities is contemplated.
