Buffalo to be fed to guests at Monona County event

A buffalo confined in a South Dakota state park will be slain at a Jan inquiry in Onawa Iowa as the Monona County Conservation Club hosts its third annual buffalo feed. CCC camps at Moorehead will help serve the dinner.

Miller Agricultural Classes To Be Held At Miller

Miller plans a series of Wednesday evening instructional classes on cattle and sheep care under Palmer Skalland, high school agriculture instructor. Open to young men under 25, with outside agencies aiding two sessions. A Christmas vacation visit to Sioux Falls is planned and certificates of merit will be awarded at the last meeting.

Plans for a Christmas party with pot luck lunch and gift exchange were set for tomorrow evening at the hall.

Income Tax Reports Ruled Confidential

Attorney General Leo Termmey said income tax returns are confidential and may not be revealed beyond their use by taxing agents. He advised Tax Director J. H. Battum that he properly refused to disclose information in two income tax reports revealed to the Lawrence county draft board.

Ace of Clubs Group Meets at Wessington

Mrs Ferrald Shea hosted the Ace of Clubs group at the Sheas home. Contract bridge across three tables produced high scores for Mrs Ed Shaw and Mrs Sam Stobbs while Mrs Robert Shea won the traveling prize. Guests included Mrs Fred Holst and Mrs Frank Kearney and gifts were exchanged after lunch. The next meeting is planned for January at Mrs Stobbs residence.

Hitchcock Senior Hazel Glidden Named Citizenship Contender

Hazel Glidden, a Hitchcock high school senior, is chosen as a contender for the good citizenship pilgrimage to Washington. From four contestants, she will be sent to the county superintendent. one girl per county advances toward the state selection in Pierre in January for the Washington gathering.

Willkie McNary Electors Cast Four Votes in SD

Pierre December 17 The South Dakota class of the electoral college met at noon Monday and cast four votes for Wendell L. Willkie for president and four for Senator Charles McNary for vice president. The electors chosen in the November 5 balloting were Al J. Adams Sisseton Kenneth Kellar Lead a B Boorman Lemmon and William M. Rumpile Arlington.

Airport Thieves Nabbed At Watertown

Sioux Falls police say Clifford Beam and Glen Grover of Watertown admitted six airport hangar burglaries. Hebron Nebraska officials will return Grover to face burglary charges there. Sheriff Emil Scharn of Watertown charged Beam with child desertion. two female companions were returned to Watertown. Police found an assortment of articles in their car after their arrest Saturday. The only South Dakota airport entry noted was at Yankton.

Fellowship Dinner At Church Of Christ Elects Elders

Wellington reports a large fellowship dinner at the Church of Christ followed by officer elections. Kruse and Charles Huddleston were reelected elders, Bert Morrow named deacon, Mrs Henry Muhs clerk, Eva De Haven pianist, Elsie Schwab Sunday School superintendent, with Elizabeth DeHaven secretary treasurer and Edia Stobbs assistant superintendent.

Wessington Aid Group Christmas Party

Wessington on December 17 the Church of Christ Aid society held a Christmas party with ten members and guests including Mrs. Harry Clark Mrs. Ed Shaw and Mrs. James Waldner. Christmas stories were read by Mrs. Muhs and Mrs. DeHaven. Children sang a group of songs and gifts were exchanged with lunch served. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. DeHaven in January.

Wolsey students furnished entertainment Saturday evening for the annual AAA banquet at the Elks hall. The program featured band numbers mixed chorus an instrumental quartet and a girls vocal group.
