Plan to regulate news broadcasts proposed by press and broadcasters

A New York committee of newspaper publishers, press associations, radio chains, and broadcasting leaders unveiled a ten point program to regulate radio news. It calls for a seven member committee to issue limited daily bulletins, selection from AP UP INS reports, air times 3 30 am and 9 pm, non commercial use, dissolution of CBS news service, NBC not entering news, funding by broadcasters, occasional urgent bulletins, restrict commentators to background, curb newspaper owned and independent station news, and promotion of adoption by publishers and associations. New York December 16 Louis Joseph Vance a 54 year old well known author was burned to death early today at his East Side apartment. He apparently fell asleep with a lighted cigarette in his hand and was found seated in a chair with his hands and face badly burned.
