Fire Destroys D. D. Baldwin Farm Garage
The double garage on the D. D. Baldwin farm at Carthage burned to the ground. P. H. Matthews, who lived there, had his automobile inside the garage. His son drove the car home around 10 p.m., and at 4 p.m. the next day the fire was discovered, making it impossible to save anything. Stored items included boxes, canvas for the binder, and other supplies. The garage was insured, but the car and other items were not. The blaze apparently started from a shortage on the car.
