The American Legion Auxiliary fife and drum corps of Huron will give daily concerts at the city fair grounds, as part of the entertainment lineup for the event.
Secretary John F. White announced a diverse lineup for the state fair September 9 to 13 including a fifty piece Thavin band led by eighteen year old Samuel Thavin, the Chicago and North Western Railway band, Redfield Municipal band, the Widdies Bana of Onida, Hu Municipal hand, and other acts to entertain crowds and lead events during fair week.
Elmer Purlin Almos died at his brother’s home near Castlewood after a four day pneumonia illness. He was 26 years old and taught in schools near Sisseton Castlewood and Uni-Ca, after graduating Watertown class of 1924 and Aberdeen Normal. He leaves sisters and brothers including G O Lovre of Huron and John Almos of Castlewood, with many friends attending the funeral from several towns. Card of Thanks thanks friends for support, floral offerings, and attendance at the last rites.
