Miller Aug 26 Special The dwindling ranks of Hand county pioneers was further decreased last week when W. H. Shearer Ree Heights 80 and Marion Cox St. Lawrence 75 passed away. Services for Mr Shearer will be held Wednesday at Ree Heights with burial there and Mr Cox will be laid to rest in the cemetery at St. Lawrence.

Edward W. Coshun an early Huron resident died Saturday night after months of serious illness. Born December 13, 1871 in Rockford Illinois he settled in Huron in 1834 and married Mildred Wharton in 1902. More than 300 people attended the annual mission festival at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church. Three services were held with Rev. F. G. Kellerman of Manafield delivering morning and afternoon addresses, and Rev. Ba Haternberger of Mitchell speaking in the evening. Visitors came from Yale Cavour Wolsey Virgil Mitchell and Mansfield. Dinner and supper were served in the church basement by the women’s society.
