Inside The White House War Board as Roosevelt's inner circle
Franklin D. Roosevelt relies on a small group for war policy, featuring Adm. William Leahy, Stimson, Knox, Marshall, King, Arnold, Byrnes, Vinson, Jones, Crowley, Hull, and Hopkins. The War Mobilization Board chaired by Byrnes, Vinson, Stimson, Knox, and Hopkins drives domestic economy and war needs, while Hopkins and Leahy operate as de facto advisers shaping strategic directives. The inner circle wields influence in London and Moscow, with Byrnes handling home front politics and Vinson enforcing delegated authority across agencies.
