Hitchcock August 25 Special reports the fall term for the high school and grade classes will begin Monday September 4 enrollment on Monday and classes start Tuesday September 5. WELLINGTON SPRINGS Aug 2 Special L M Larson reported at the Kiwanis meeting on the Winnipeg convention. He praised Canadian Kiwanis and noted strong membership growth with over 400 new members. Car Crash Near Highmore Leaves Family Hurt
A Saturday morning collision one mile south of Highmore involved Jacob Goidsmith, his wife, and their grandson Jimmy Goldsmith after a tire blowout caused by a spike. Mrs. Goldsmith suffered deep leg cuts and facial injuries, Mr. Goldsmith minor bruises, and the infant nosebleed.

South Dakota farmers will get low cost trees under the Clark McNary act after November 3 when the state free planting law takes effect. Senator H C Halvorson explains trees qualify for federal aid of $2000 yearly and a revolving fund to match the grant. One year old seedlings include elms ash hackberry olives pines and spruces not ornamentals or fruits. Plan Construction At Civilian Camp
Deadwood Aug 23 Black Hills sawmills are turning out lumber for bar racks and other buildings to serve CCC workers in the Black Hills and Harney national forests. Advices say activity will continue through winter though camp numbers and sites are not definite. Sawmills have been bought or leased and run by former operators. About 2400 conservation men are in the Black Hills, split between the two forests with six camps in each.
