G W Geiger 92 of 931 Mingis Avenue Southwest died instantly when struck between two cars at Illinois Avenue and Seventh Street Southwest about 1 30 PM He was crushed beneath the vehicles it is believed He was born April 14 1857 in Pennsylvania and lived in Ida Grove before moving to Huron He worked in milling then with George W Land Agency later Union Bond and Mortgage Company He lived with his son Ernest R Geiger and daughters Edith M Geiger Nellie G Geiger at 931 Illinois Avenue Southwest A niece Elizabeth Shearer from Ebensburg Pa was visiting Funeral services scheduled Wednesday at Kinyon s Chapel with Dr Hubert Teller officiating burial in Ida Grove Cemetery

Two Shot Milk Strike Free For All In Camden
CAMDEN N Y Aug 22 Two men were shot and 15 persons injured today at the Dairymen s League plant in a 15 minute milk strike free for all between farmers and dairy farmers union pickets. Roman Charney Boonville and Russell Ossont Lyons Falls were taken to a Rome hospital. Charney is in critical condition. Ossont was wounded in the leg.

Cobb Drives Car Nearly 370 MPH at Bonneville Flats
John R. Cobb of London piloted the 24 cylinder Rail in Red Lion over the measured mile at 369.23 mph on August 22 at Bonneville Salt Flats, the fastest land speed yet reached. A return trip within the hour could not be completed due to motor trouble, so the run was not official. The previous record of 356.44 mph was held by Capt. George E. T. Eyston of England.
