Army Letters From Camp Campbell and Iceland
A collection of family letters from Sgt Cecil Barthelman at Camp Campbell Ky and Corp Vince Mullaney in Iceland describe travel, training, and weather. Barthelman notes heat in Kentucky, maneuvers, and hopes for furlough while recounting cities visited and a pilot from Aberdeen. Mullaney details Icelandic life, fishing, scarce agriculture, perpetual daylight, high winds, and sparse roads as natives cope with rugged terrain. A third note from Corp Joseph Pintuck in Africa shares farm memories, longing for Sears and plans after the war, plus a story about American and Italian soldiers.
