Inmates Pardoned and Sentence Reductions by Governor
Three South Dakota penitentiary inmates received pardons and three others had terms shortened. Ernest Manske of Fall River and Clarence Jinkerson of Carson Splinty along with William Van Nostrand of Minnehaha were pardoned. Manske had a five year burglary term, Jinkerson a 2.5 year grand larceny term, and Van Nostrand a 15 year rapes sentence. Commutations reduced Melvin Coil's murder sentence to two years, Ed Madson’s burglary term to five years, and Wilson Butcher’s robbery term to three years.

Accident Victim Dies Early Today in Huron Area
Walter A. Kruse 24 died from injuries after a truck left a ditch northeast of Huron last Saturday. He had Been working for Wallet Cleaners and Model Laundry and was en route home when the accident occurred. He was born November 24, 1908 in Spencer and survived by two brothers and six sisters.
