Lake Dudley is located eight miles east and three miles north of Frenausch or 20 miles north and two miles east of Huron.

Pierre Aug. 16 A complete new schedule of fire insurance rates for towns and cities west of the Missouri river is being prepared by insurers and the state department. Commissioner W J Dawson said ill protected towns will be resurveyed for the new rates as rapidly as possible. At least a ten percent reduction will be made in rates on brick and masonry structures. The reductions, when effective, would save insurers thousands of dollars annually.
August 1934 meeting notes show all members present. Actions include first reading for a parking time ordinance, land purchase for a tubular well site, and relief ditch projects with bids and prices evaluated.
City of Huron South Dakota approves borrowing up to 90000 dollars to fund emergency water well construction after James River drought reduces intake. Resolution directs Mayor and City Auditor to issue warrants, pledge tax levy for repayment, and preserve public safety.
The Huron South Dakota Board of City Commissioners resolves to buy two turbine water pumps from Crane & Company for $1612.60 each to increase artesian well flow. The pumps must be shipped immediately to Huron with shipment trace by telegram and delivery to the city.
The city of Huron votes to authorize immediate water pump allocation of 750 gallons per minute and to fund the project through the Emergency Water Improvement Fund. Commissioner Green supports the measure while Anderson joins Green in voting yes with no no votes recorded.
