Minnehaha County reports indicate most small grain harvest is nearly complete with only a few late oats left. Farmers continue shock threshing across districts with final stook threshing expected later. County agent Halph Hartung notes the process should end soon with field work wrapping up this season.

Spearfish Normal Plans Six-Pier Repair at College Hall

Repair of six piers at College Hall in Spearfish Normal began this week and should finish in about six weeks. S W Jones of Aberdeen, builder of the structure, holds the $4230 contract. The state board of regents authorized the work and asked for an investigation to determine responsibility for pier weakening.

IOWA FALLS Aug 8. Plain for a passenger airline from Omaha to Winnipeg are securing completions the local Walley aviation offices announced. Faulk Weel Growers Market in Faulk county sold about 250000 pounds of wool this season for roughly 25000 dollars. Wool cooperatives at Muska Weeota Cresbard and Mirando handled about five percent of county production. FRANKFORT Aug 8. Aksel Realson a farmer east of the city fell from a stack of hay while helping to stack and broke his right arm at the wrist. The extra large load lowered balance and this accident is a great handicap to Mr Realson at the harvest season.

Brookings Aug 8 A survey by A E Anderson SD State College shows 2664 farm laborers found jobs in South Dakota in a 12 month period through 18 county agents. Wages held steady statewide with two counties down from 50 to 45 per year and one slightly up. Daily wage trends show 7 of 18 counties down and one up with general work 2 to 2 50 per day and harvest threshing 3 to 4 per day.
