Sharpe counters Bulow critique as admission of weakness
South Dakota Attorney General M Q Sharpe defended his banking report against Governor Bulows criticism arguing the governors stance shows remissness in enforcing banking laws He says the report follows Bulows own 1929 recommendations and warns his administration would undermine safety by sidelining law and relying on one mans policy The memo defends the department and emphasizes lawful supervision and public confidence in banks.
