Rapid City April 24. Prices of tungsten ore are rising in the Black Hills with deposits noted in the Keystone, Hill City, Custer and Lead regions. Prof. P Connolly of the School of Mines cites new alloy developments by GE and Krupp that may boost demand and reopen idle mines.

In Platte Water System Platta, April 24, plans for a new reservoir and plumbing plant were approved. A 200000 gallon steel reservoir will join an existing 65000 gallon elevated tank to boost water supply for firefighting. The system enables 750 gallons per minute for five hours.
