Neighborhood group activities fill a St Lawrence region week with quilting, card clubs, and auxiliary meetings. Attendees include Audree Schanf er, Friscilla club guests, and many local families. reports cover illness, travel, Easter visits, and a district convention.
Mr. and Mrs. E R Campbell and Lawrence left Saturday for LeMars Iowa to spend Easter. Mrs. W E Brewster joined them to Orange City Iowa. Emma and Violet Larson left Sunday for Mobridge with their sister and planned return Tuesday. Mrs. Walter Simon and Eva Simon of Sherman were in Woonsocket for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. T M Brisbine and Jean spent the weekend with relatives in Aberdeen. Mitchell Padmore, state college Brookings student, returned home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hoppe of Slayton Minnesota visited at the L H Schuler home. Mrs. Robert Jordan of Minneapolis visited Ed Newcomb’s home from Thursday to Monday. Miss Geraldine Hendricks of Pierre spent the weekend at home.
Cavour residents report activity across town including trophy cup cabinet installation at the schoolhouse, taxpayers committee representatives at the courthouse, and various visits by residents from Huron Pearl Creek and De Smet. Easter vacation plans and lodge meetings also noted as community events unfold this week.
The transfer of Ross Gascolgnne to the Cavour R N A Lodge will occur monthly during the summer season.
Iroquois Frances Armin Ruth Bottomley and Edna Ulrich, students at Northern normal Aberdeen, are home for the Eastern vacation. The Breckenwagon family who moved to California two years ago are reported to be returning here to make their. TriMe Sunday school class held its April closing meeting at Mrs. Katie Schultz home with Mrs. W. Miller as assistant hostess. Eunice Sawvelle has returned to Sioux City after two weeks here with her parents Mr and Mrs C B Evin.
Mrs. R. J. Fleming traveled to Rochester Minnesota this week for the funeral of a niece. Miss Fanny B. Mills and Mrs. J. J. Salisbury were in Huron Wednesday assisting with the county Sunday school convention program preparations.
Local residents share weekend visits and Easter gatherings. Marie Kludt spends time in Huron. the Walz family visits Mrs. Walz in hospital. Moor family vacationed in De Smet. Kallesons travel to Lake Preston. Malone family visits Randall home near Huron. Elwood Haynes receives note about first automobile license in Kokomo Indiana.
Fairfield residents hosted Huron callers Mr. and Mrs. L Likeness and Shiley. Jeff Biggerstaff works with the Wormstad sheep shearing crew now in Iowa and headed to North and South Dakota. Fairfield Orchestra Club met at Everett Van Home's home recently.
Yale Mr and Mrs C Harding and family visited Sunday at the Henry Briplewan home near Cavour. Several families from Bancroft Iroquois and Milbank spent Sunday and extended visits with local residents and hosted dinners. Anna Belle Marsh returned to Milbank to resume teaching after a vacation with her parents. Misses Loretta and Mary Kelley of Cavour visited Mrs John Smith. Mrs Edward Kludt spent several days visiting at her home.
