Watertown April 20 AP The American Legion and auxiliary launch a statewide Poppy Day drive on May 27. Irene Ottmann of Hot Springs chairs the campaign as 186 veterans at Battle Mountain Sanitarium manufacture 200000 poppies earning 1 cent each plus therapeutic value. South Dakota is tasked with selling 165009 poppies this year to fund welfare work.
