Logan Walter Bill Strongly Opposed By Administration
In Washington on April 1, the Roosevelt administration opposed the Logan Walter bill to standardize procedures for federal administrative agencies. Despite opposition, both chambers expected approval by the House and Senate. Rep. Celler said the bill faced widespread resistance from independent agencies and cabinet members who fear a single yardstick would constrain diverse functions. The Senate planned a vote on a separate bill creating six district judgeships and three circuit judgeships.
