Revision proposal targets U.S. tax law to spur private jobs
Senator George of Georgia proposes a three fold tax reform to boost private employment. A flat capital gains rate of 10 or 12 percent for new enterprises would apply for three years. A similar tax would apply to railroad and facility financing issues. A 40 percent cut in taxes on profits from commodities sold abroad above the three year average is suggested. The plan awaits Treasury review and faces House and Senate opposition this session.
