Pierre April 3 A section of the Needles highway between the state game lodge and Sylvan Jake will appear on South Dakota s newest malt tax stamp designed by Kenneth R Scurr assistant state bridge engineer The stamp proof will determine repro quality and the design aims to promote the state s Black Hills scenic resources Officials note 15 million stamps in three denominations ordered at 600 cost with eight million one cent stamps yellow four million larger value stamps and three million one half cent brown stamps The new malt tax goes into effect July first and stamps will be handled by the state treasurer with county auditors involved in cigarette stamps
