Pierre March 30 Additional oil signs were reported from the Standing Butte oil well northwest of Pierre as drilling resumed after a four month winter shutdown. John E. Hipple president of the company said water breaking over the casing was black with oil, indicating the well may be in paying quantities once testing equipment is lowered and water is shed.

Woman Admits Slaying Mate in Alma City
Alma City Minnesota March 30 Mrs Joseph Lust 31 mother of five admitted to county attorney H H L Sturner that she killed her husband with a shotgun last night as he sat facing away. Cruelty to her and to the children prompted the act. Lust 41 died four hours later from the shotgun wound to the head. She told neighbors a prowler had broken in but later confessed to firing the shot after years of abuse. Father shoots man over radio row in Watertown tragedy
In Watertown a 22 year old G E Ellis was shot and killed by his step father W Wiseman after an argument over a radio played at midnight. Tim Ellis, 18, was wounded trying to take the shotgun. The incident ends a two year family quarrel with Wiseman, who attempted suicide but was restrained by a local minister. The wounded Tim received care for a severed wrist and partial arm loss. no charges filed yet and inquest undecided.
