In Hilo Hawaii on October 23 the Mahozany Company plans to hire Joaquin to lead a thousand experienced axemen and foresters. The firm will consider plantation laborers to meet extra demand under current conditions.
The New York Chamber of Commerce endorses a resolution urging federal action to improve Pearl Harbor channel for deep draught vessels. Secretary GEO Wilson notes strong backing and plans to forward copies to the President and lawmakers.
M Somme, a Malian barber, reports ongoing persecution by Wallaghers. He describes insults and harassment on streets and at his home, stating he has not been left in peace. He recalls a confrontation on Kite and Wort streets and ongoing threats from locals.
Jamon Taylor the engineer who had been linked with a mice coor and Superintendent Holloway called on Secretary Mott Smith this morning. The Secretary said he had shown Mr. Taylor the Kapaa maps.
Buss left Godigl N B Winston of Richmond Virginia claimed a codicil to the late John H Bites will. The codicil bequeaths 2000 shares of Consolidated Mining Milling and Smelting Co of Denver to Mian Nin io Bo Winston now in Glen Allen Virginia and residing in Honolulu. It also assigns property including real estate in Mawali, all money on deposit in the ordinary banks and other valuables. The State Bank Trust Co with branches in Goldfield Tonopah Manhattan and Blair has suspended operations. Nye and Ormsby County Bank has closed for three days to proceed with unspecified measures creating a pause in local banking activities.
