Ship America Maru Survives Terrific Pacific Typhoon Passage

The steamship America Maru arrived from the Orient after delays at Manila and Hongkong due to port handling and a Lloyds survey flaw. A typhoon near Yokohama battered the ship, barometer plunging to 28.11, with one Chinese bathboy killed by a wave. The vessel, steering by hand, carried 562 tons of freight and 49 Japanese steerage bound for Honolulu and 174 for San Francisco, and sailed again toward San Francisco.

Loomering Reprimand in Assault Case At Polio Court
