Lahaina Troops Return After Striker Quellings

Militia and police quell Japanese laborer strike in Lahaina. Kinau brought 21nd detachments ashore to the armory, with officers declaring no trouble anticipated. About 700 Japanese workers on strike have mostly returned home content.

Lahaina riot expense bill postponed in Hawaii House

A stalled measure to appropriate funds for Lahaina riot expenses was indefinitely postponed in the Hawaii House of Representatives. An amendment to reduce the appropriation to 600 dollars was not acted on. Governor veto messages prompted further delay as the chamber awaited the Senate position. Sunday concert elven at Kaimuki Gardens with new guests

The fival Sunday concert will be elven at the Kaimuki Zoological Gardens tomorrow where numerous new guests of the popular institution will enjoy the music and the happy crowd. The Attorney General spent the forenoon preparing further evidence in the Nrone cage and consulted Dr Vindan of the US Marine Hospital Service. The defendant was employed by this department since January 1902 and is under five members’ examination. Also noted are details of the Laupahortioe Point Light station changes and remarks from the Light House Board. Rev S L Desha will preach at Kinawaihao church, Mr Butler will sing in Hawaiian, and Rev Dr Ostrom will speak at the Salvation Army Hall tonight. A cordial invitation is extended.
