Windward Anchor Bill Faces Tie Vote in Senate

On the twenty third day a House report on the conference committee salary bill was announced. Senate Bill relating to paying $30 to Douglass McDowell passed the House with amendments and was referred to the Judiciary Committee. A concurrent resolution urged higher teacher salaries. an amendment added that a certified copy be argued by both chambers. The Judiciary Committee proposed shelving Governor appointments for election inspectors amid party concerns. The anchor to windward bill was read third time, then amended to strike post operative language. Dickey moved to strike band funding, failing 10 to 4. The roll: seven ayes against four noes.
