Hospital at War Plans New Building Complex

Directors of the Hospital for Tourables approved immediate construction of a new six acre complex on block 49 Kulmukt tract. William Muteh’s plan shows eight buildings with tongue and groove Kimber siding, designed to prevent vermin and simplify demolition if needed. Main building centers the reception, offices, operating room, and dispensary with wings containing wards, a kitchen block, laundry, and related facilities. Endowment and equipment funds were reported totals of $84,750 and $55,200 respectively, raising substantial pledged support for the project.

Clise sees bright Hawaii future through Pacific trade links

J W Clise, Globe Navigation managing director and Beatty Chamber of Commerce president, arrived in Ventura to push Northwest Hawaii trade. He argued Hawaii could secure a larger share of trans Pacific commerce as railroads open Pacific coast territories. He noted Alaska and nearby states already drive much demand, and predicted the bulk of U S growth would flow from trans Pacific trade with Beattie rising as a key Pacific port while San Francisco remains established.

Inter Company Reet and Weights and Measures Certificate

Death of Another Old Time Resident In Honolulu
