Trade treaty links United States to Barbados exports

The red Breeks treaty between the United Inter and Great Britain on trade with Barbados was signed, extending the Dingley act terms for five years to allow reciprocal duty reductions. Barbados mainly ships sugar molasses and manjak to the United States, while receiving foodstuffs and manufactured goods from the U.K. and United States, linking the island to global markets. The report notes sugar as Barbados’ chief export, with a trade last year around two million three hundred thousand dollars, and details on the U.S. imports.
