Memorial Service For Odd Fellows Held In Harmony Hall
The annual memorial service of the Odd Fellows chapter was held Sunday afternoon in Harmony Hall King Street. Brother W Parks spoke and the hall was decorated by the Rebekah Lodge. The program featured eulogies for deceased Brothers and music by Mrs F W Bosworth and the Amateur Orchestra. Afterward the lodge members visited Nucaou Cemetery to decorate graves.

Bubonic Plague Quarantine Moves for Nippon Maru Off Columbia
The Board of Health held a special meeting amid bubonic plague aboard the Nippon Maru. Bacilli were found and the steamer was ordered in absolute quarantine for seven days. Officials discussed landing passengers and cargo, with all to remain aboard the Nippon Maru or be transferred to the City of Columbia, which was chartered to anchor offshore.
