Man injured as cartload of sand traps animal on Victoria Street

A male driver and two pedestrians freed a trapped animal under a cartload of sand at the head of Victoria Street. The horse showed injuries after the ordeal, with galls on its back and shoulder found when the harness was removed. The animal reportedly belonged to Wm Norton.

Hon W Kaai of Hava district sails from Honolulu to Kona aboard the Mauna Loa this forenoon to inspect prospects and decide if Kona will be his future home. He says he is tired of Han. The Logies state lacks sufficient appropriations, threatening to keep forestry tasks at a standstill without aid.
