Aboard the Moana Loon the port line entangled with Mauna Loa propeller while mooring at Oceanic wharf caused 2.5 hour delay. Diver Morse freed a three fathom rope segment from the shaft. Mauna Loa then proceeded, delaying departure from scheduled 10:00 a m to 12:00 p m.
The Ramos Herald outlines a June 20 1899 proclamation from US UK and German High Commissioners affirming continued Supreme Court jurisdiction under the Berlin Treaty. It notes hopes for a more powerful court and potential successor for Chief Justice Chambers, while reporting local reactions and related church and civic events including a Japanese church fair and a Samoa arrest incident.

A Galician immigrant attempted to kill his wife and himself in Emma Street area. Deputy Marshal Chillingworth investigated and the suspect survived after wounds. Amateur Orchestra work for August 1 concert continues with rehearsals and ticket help. Moana liner arrivals report goods, including spirits, potatoes, and onions, for distribution. Japanese Church fair on Nanano Avenue continues that evening.
