An investigation committee reviewed correspondence with the Land Office and Pratt agreed to meet the board upon his return to Hilo. The complaint letter cites concerns over government land exchanges and street deals in Honolulu and Hilo.

Arbitration fixes compensation for land at 650.16
A long dispute over land value in the Kalihl reservoir area ended with arbitration. The Public Works Department and the Hansoputate (Hans) agreed to arbitrate the land value. J F Morgan A V Gear and Harry Armitage on the board set the compensation at 650.16 to the Bishop Estate. The original offer of 200 per acre was rejected.

Arrested for Perjury in Hawaii Territory Case
Chun Mun Fook and Chun Moon Nan were arrested on charges of perjury as witnesses in the Territory of Hawaii v Yang Chow Kiam. Yang Chow Kiam was alleged to have robbed partners in a fire claim award after a store burned. The prosecution failed to show entrapment or money exchange and the perjury charges followed the embezzlement case, with possible damages to follow.
Dow Promotes Amon Dow to Calfornian Captain
The American,Hawaiian steamship docked from Seattle at the rail road wharf. It carried about a thousand tons for Honolulu and expected to sail to the Sandy to load sugar for New York mid next week. Amon Dow, formerly first officer on the American, is promoted to captain of the Californian.
