This morning Larry Dee's residence on Young Street sold under mortgage foreclosure to J F Mumbras, mortgagee, who bid it in. The saloon was bought for 625 dollars by John Gills, subject to a 9500 pound mortgage and accrued interest plus back taxes. Back rent of 800 dollars was claimed against the saloon fixtures owned by Mr. Fiebel. A wire from Land Commissioner J W Pratt reports he will leave Maui for Honolulu aboard the mail boat.

Petengon Receives Reprimand in Guilty Plea Case
In Police Court this morning Charter Peterson master at arms of the steamship Sierra faced a charging of carrying a deadly weapon after a quarrel on the wharf with Purser Walton. The judge deemed a reprieve sufficient punishment, noting his alleged duties aboard the vessel and ashore. Also before the court were burglar and larceny defendants including Tom Larkins and J Borges, with some charges nolle prossed or waived for trial in Chronic Court. Hong the Chinaman was sentenced to one year hard labor for second degree larceny. John Kua, a bogus Health inspector, faced robbery and related charges in a continuing case.

Fire destroys two story house on Linaislo street
Fire at the residence of Charles Moore on Linaislo street caused the two story house to burn entirely with the upper floors engulfed. Mrs Moore and a servant were inside when a gasoline stove exploded in the bathroom starting the blaze and calling out the fire department. The building, owned by the Notley estate and insured for 2500 with St Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co., was largely lost though much furniture was saved and Moore returned home after the emergency.
