Local morning report claimed Mount Tantalus smoke came from bush fires but Weather Bureau's J Lyons said Mokuaweoweo crater was the source. A freight car mishap at Halawa crushed left arm and left foot of Beaks Wetzel. Doctors decided to amputate to save his life after rapid aid and surgery at Queens Capital. Executive Council Rejects Land Claims at Ewa Upset Sale Set

The Executive Council refused to recognize land claims at Ewa. It recommended selling to the highest bidder with an upset price. Dr C B Wood sought extra land near Punchbowl slopes in exchange for land widened on Beretania Street. He would pay 85 cash. Attorney General Cooper resigned as Finance Minister. Damon Laving returned. Mr Brown’s leave of absence for two months was granted. Interior bids for buoy supply not opened due to Rowell’s absence.
