Robbery at Hawaiian Hotel Bar and Billiard Room

A Friday night theft at the Hawaiian Hotel bars and billiard room saw about $20 in change stolen from the till and a box with the receipts for the evening, valued between $20 and $30. Entry was gained by forcing a window. police have only suspicion and no concrete leads.

Waterfront character John found dead at home

Police report states John, known as Mirinda, aged about 50 to 60, was found dead in his Queen Street room after a Saturday illness. Dr. Emerson cites natural causes. Inquest deemed unnecessary. body removed to station and buried in the afternoon.

Captain Good Arrested Amid Command Tensions

Captain John Good of Company GH Regulars was placed under arrest at 9:30 this morning amid reported friction with Colonel McLean of the National Guard. Adjutant Schaefer confirmed the arrest but offered no details, a court martial likely to occur. Minister Cooper avoided comment. Also, the schooner Alpha carried three deserters from the U S Adams to San Francisco who disappeared at sea after disembarking.
