Landing chutes prove handy at railroad wharf
A new device rigged by George Denison at the O R & L railroad wharf enables rapid unloading of sugar from ships. The J C Pflueger can load and discharge faster as chutes run from the wharf between a vessel’s masts. Other ships, including St Katherine and W H Dimond, benefit as the scheme spreads locally.
