Miners Threaten Strike Over Wages at Lin Line

About 220 miners employed by the Lin Line Copper Company in Macon county are put on a strike for higher wages. Operators refuse the increase. If the strikers do not return to work in a few days, new forces will be brought in to replace them.

John McKeague 67 Dies at Hawaiian Sanitarium

John McKeague died at the Sanitarium on King Street at 8:20 am. A native of Coleraine Ireland, he was 67 and had lived in the Hawaiian Islands for over forty years. The funeral graves from St Andrew's Cathedral tomorrow afternoon. He built Heeia sugar plantation and faced costly litigation after a fall, with a final judicial decree ruling against him. His passing closes a lifelong story of enterprise and struggle against fortune.
