Hawaii Chamber of Commerce discussed delaying land policy actions and sending memorial cables to Senator Foraker and Congressman Knox. Members urged public input, drafted memorials, and planned committees to craft cables and memorials on public land matters for submission to Washington.
This clipping details nautical schedules including tides, arrivals and departures of ships at Kahului and Honolulu, along with weather readings and a court session on a liquor sale charge. It notes adjournments, adjourned cases of adultery, and a political discussion about land and leper matters affecting policy and governance.
Pat Higgins a young white man appeared in the Police Court charged with vagrancy. He claimed to have just arrived as a stowaway aboard the Zealandia. Judge Wilcox warned Higgins to obtain work within a week or the Territory would have him on file. The case was continued a week to allow time to secure employment. The Honolulu Stock Exchange reported bright early quotations from Hawaiian Sugar stocks via a San Francisco cablegram. The Cushotte Ladies Aid Society will hold its annual meeting at Mr John McLain’s Beretania Street at 3 p.m. tomorrow with important business and large attendance requested.
By authority notice to all water privilege holders rates due for the term ending June 20 1903 must be paid at the Honolulu Water Works office by January 1 1908. Delinquent after 15 days incur 10 percent penalty. further delinquency after thirty days triggers action. Signed Andrew Brown superintendent Honolulu Water Works December 29 1902.
