Welcome and Hospitality to Lord Beresford at Honolulu
The meeting of British residents at the Arlington Inn opened with Commissioner Kenny presiding. Dr McKibbin chaired. Wright named secretary. Lord Bereford’s mission was commercial, aiming to promote Pacific trade, with a formal welcome to Hawaii as part of the United States. Committees were formed to draft the address, and the consulate general and Chamber of Commerce were invited to join the reception and meals.
