A narrator recalls a street scene in downtown Detroit with a comical misadventure near Matrime Parlors. Harry coerces the speaker toward the door while the justice and bystanders react. the scene ends with a playful, if tense, exit and a lingering sense of embarrassment over the failed engagement.
