Pearl City Fruit Co plans cannery and expansion in Ewa lands

The Pearl City Fruit Company revealed plans to boost capital from 825,010 to 330,000, establish a 30,000 to 40,000 can per day cannery, and plant 75 to 100 acres of pine with new fibre mills for pineapple leaf fibre. J W Smith, longtime manager and former farmer, described the venture and its strategic layout atop 650 foot elevation, aiming for increased rainfall and diversified industry amid annexation context.

Their conditions remain critical.
