Governor Carter vetoed the concurrent resolution to appoint a commission to draft county law for next session, citing no definite payment plan for the commission and potential large charges. He returned the measure with a warning that approval would follow only if a definite remuneration plan is provided.
Roward W Quinn, a Union Street plumber, reports repeated robberies at his shop and neighboring property. Thieves pried doors, stole brass fittings solder and cigars, hid loot in a nearby yard, and fled over a ceiling-less partition. Quinn urges police action against thieves and fence buyers.
The Territorial Republican Convention convened at Progress Hall with C. L. Crabbe presiding. Delegates debated proxy voting for temporary chairman, leading to a ballot showing John C. Lang 91 votes and W. C. Acht 88. Lang later named temporary chairman and W. H. Charlock chosen as temporary secretary.
