Nialli Sugar Company plans capital for plantation growth

The Nialli Sugar Company Limited will be capitalized at 2,000,000 with 1,000,000 for purchase of Nialli plantation and about 800,000 for working capital to buy adjacent sugar lands and improve the plantation. Shares will be 20 dollars. Edward Pollitz sailed home with an option for 8718 Wailuku Lager Co. stock at 450 a share, contingent on eight years as agency.

Crown Lands Seizure Denial by General Compton

General Compton dismissed a San Francisco Call report claiming he sought seizure of crown lands for the United States. He called the story manufactured and said his business in Honolulu was a routine visit to the Military Post at Langili and a briefing at the Executive Building.

Night battle near Manila with heavy casualties

In Manila a fierce engagement formed as the Moutaon regiment and the Third Artillery crossed the Talighan river moving toward Polo and Novaliches. General Otis and General Hale backed by General MacArthur pressed forward while General Aall’s brigade protected Hale’s right. The Oregon regiment and Utah battery held the left as insurgents mounted crossfire near Malabon and Malaton. The Montana regiment encountered a stiff block near Baliotanno with heavy casualties and multiple attacks.
