General Orders No 53 states six months frontline duty earns a gold chevron on the lower half of the left sleeve for officers clerks and others in a theatre of operations. The war service badge signifies active participation abroad and extends to civilians. the Fourth Liberty Loan badge becomes a mark of war service for all loyal Americans.

Notice to Travelers Closed County Road North of Eureka
The Eureka County Board announces the county road from the Diamond Valley sign board seventeen miles north of Eureka to Mt Hope and Alpha is closed until further notice to permit a new bridge near Tyron Station also called Garden Pass. Commissioner R J Rew signed the notice in Eureka Nevada on September 19 1918.
