Bonner Brothers Strike Water Near Smoke Creek
C T Stevenson, former secretary of the Reno Commercial Club, notes Bonner Brothers have driven wells near the Smoke Creek desert edge in Washoe County. A six inch flow rises eight feet above the top of the Deep Hole well casing, which reached 180 feet after a 120 foot start and 60 feet more casing. A smaller flow at 120 feet grew when deepened to 180 feet, flooding eight feet over the casing top. Stevenson says the success prompts further wells in the area.
