Skeletons Found In Shaft At California Pioche Mine
Three skeletal remains two humans and a dog were unearthed last Saturday in a 50 foot shaft on the California Pioche Mining Company property by William Wheatley and his son. The bodies show signs of murder with rocks piled atop and shattered skulls. Identification is unlikely and the killers may never be known. The shaft lies in a lonely gulch near the main works.
