Mutton Prices to Be Higher Amid Wool Shortage

Wool Growers' Association president F. J. Hagenbarth warned at Salt Lake City that mutton prices will rise further even after peace. He cited a 20 percent flock shortage in the next census, global supply tightness, and high costs of lambing and winter feeding requiring sheep to yield 10 pounds of wool at 20 cents and 80 percent lambs to avoid losses.

Gas power promise from Reno man on way to Detroit

George L. Fish, formerly in Reno real estate, claims a method to convert distillate and base oil into a powerful gas by mixing with water. Ship Purchase Bill Signed for Fifty Million to Build Merchant Fleet

President Wilson signed the Ship Purchase Bill to grow the U S merchant marine without subsidies. McAdoo said the act ends unfair competition and assures protection and a strong government board. The bill funds fifty million dollars to construct and acquire merchant ships and naval auxiliaries. B Visnevac was arrested in Tonopah after stabbing John Terkla at a grocery store.
