In Justice Court last Saturday Judge T A Burdick and Peter Gianini pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace of Mabel Wilson on North Buel Street and paid 50 dollars fine plus costs. Grice and Weber argued on Main Street with a ruling fining Grice 20 dollars and 20 dollars costs. Bernard Damele pled guilty to using an auto without a license, paying 5 dollars fine and 20 dollars costs. Damele has two registered cars and an unlicensed truck used for a hurried town trip and parked on Main Street. Dan Nostrosa pleaded not guilty to using an unlicensed auto claiming he does not own it and will face trial September 23.

Last Saturday a Palisade local derailed one mile north of Mineral Station after a seven foot culvert gave way. Two passengers, J Sheehan and Mrs Christye MacGillivray, were aboard. Cars and engine were repaired, with service resuming by Sunday morning. Superintendent C B Sexton attributed the incident to storm waters weakening the culvert’s foundations, noting minor fire damage to culvert timbers from a brush fire the day before.

Stolen Automobile Recovered in Eureka Case
A stolen car linked to James Cooper was found in Eureka by Chief Kirkley after its owner, E F Jones, reported the theft from in front of a Methodist church. Cooper was later arrested in bed with a woman in Eureka. his wife was detained earlier. Cooper admitted to stealing a license plate and claiming the car was stolen, with Reno and Lincoln County authorities pursuing him.
