Draft Men Must Register Thursday Sept 12
Washington Aug 31 President Wilson set Thursday September 12 as the date for registration for the army draft of men 18 to 45 not yet registered or not in service. Estimates say over 12 million may be subject to call with emphasis on those in good health and without dependents. Young men aged eighteen to be grouped for education and not called until other classes exhausted. Those already in service and certain officers and enlisted men are exempt but must register when leaving service.
