Whiteley to Succeed Comerford in Nevada Education Post
George Whiteley of Ely accepts appointment as deputy superintendent of public instruction for the second supervision district of Nevada to succeed J. W. Comerford who resigned. Whiteley, ex McGill High instructor and former White Pine County district attorney, will serve in White Pine Eureka and Lander Counties. Comerford joins the San Francisco school department. Noted Anti-Saloon League figure injured in Nevada auto crash
Rev. F. Jones a Nevada Anti-Saloon League leader traveling with his wife in Eureka last Sunday by auto from Elko. They departed Eureka Monday morning for Austin. Near the Willows thirty miles west of Eureka the vehicle tipped, dislocating Mr Jones's shoulder while Mrs Jones sustained minor injuries. They were transported to Austin for treatment. no further details available.

Italian immigrant Bernard Marlo dies after aged decline
Bernard Marlo, a resident of Eureka County since 1872, died Thursday October 21 at age 78 years 5 months 1 day. A native of Italy, he worked in charcoal burning and mining before retirement, lived at Prospect for years, and died in Eureka. Funeral was held Friday with burial in the Catholic cemetery, and he was without known relatives.

Carload ore and spelts moved over the local railroad this week. Four cars were sent by the Eureka Holly line and six cars of spelts were shipped by the Richmond Eureka line to Utah smelters.
