FUREKA MINING SEEKS OPTION ON PATENTED PROSPECT MOUNTAIN

Austin Jackson of Reno reportedly secured an option on a patented claim at Prospect Mountain before leaving for the West. Reports note drift work on the 600 level at Eureka and a new ore shoot intersection near the 400 level, while gas and ventilation issues affect Uncle Sam mine operations and plans for a Hamburg line tunnel and a new reduction mill in San Francisco.

Nevada Livestock Association Meeting Set for Eureka

The Nevada Livestock Association announces a November 3 1921 meeting at the Eureka Theatre Eureka Nevada. Local livestock men are urged to attend with speakers from Reno and delegates from other regions to discuss important issues and answer questions. Old Days In Nevada Recalled By Eureka Speaker

Dr George Wharton James recalled Nevada’s early days as pioneer preacher stirring memories at the Chamber of Commerce. He praised Nevada Indians, Catholic and Mormon roles in settlement and recounted Eureka sermons and partnerships with local saloon keepers who funded his church. He noted health and longevity claims among Paiute and Washoe people and described his journey from England to Nevada in 1861.

Death of Otis Fulton in Eureka

Otis Fulton died at the home of Mrs. Mary Fulton in Eureka after a paralytic stroke and subsequent strokes. A Nova Scotia native who mined in Nevada, he served six years as Eureka County Commissioner. Survived by nephew Lyman Fulton, nieces Mrs. Rudolph Zadow and Mrs. Christye MacGillivray, and siblings in Canada. Funeral held Friday at Walton home Nob Hill with burial in I O O F cemetery.
